TAKE MY HAND           Stephen Young
© 2011 Stephen R. Young (SOCAN) All Rights Reserved.

Lead me back to that time Lord
Where the river flowed with love
You lovingly gave your precious Son the spirit
It came upon Him like a dove
What beautiful words on that day were spoken
This is my Son with whom I’m pleased
Christ then journeyed alone into that desert
To teach us God is all we need

Chorus
Take my hand as I journey through this
Take my hand as I walk alone
Leave me with your spirit God
And all those seeds of faith you’ve sown
Purify my heart Oh Lord sanctify my soul
May I come out of this desert
Heart on fire and truly whole

Temptations, there were three
But Christ defeated them all from Satan’s grip He’s free
We will not live by bread alone
We won’t tempt our Lord
I want to get through my journey
More Christlike than before

Stay awhile
I know it’s soundin’ crazy on a Tuesday night
Let’s watch Him put the sun back down
Your faith has taught me everything will be alright
And I don’t have to make a sound
Smilin’ now, no more askin’ how
You showed me
God has got it all right in His hands
I’ve never seen you worry about your life
And now I understand

Chorus
Now my hope is in the Lord
He’ll take me higher
He is at the heart of my desires
Standing strong
I’ve got a perfect friend
Can’t you see the, Son of God holdin’ on
To my thankful hand?
The best part of my livin’
Is I’m forgiven

Open up your heart
Let His love come in to where there’s room
‘Cause I know that you’ve heard His voice
It’s really not that hard for us to do
You’ll never make a sweeter choice
All your dreams
Comin true it seems
Findin out that you don’t have to do it all alone………………..
Layin back and watchin’ where He’ll take you
Until the day He takes you home…..

Chorus
Then your hope is in the Lord
He’ll take you higher
He is at the heart of your desires
Standin’ strong
You’ve got a perfect friend
Can’t you see the Son of God holdin on
To your thankful hand?
The best part of your livin’
Is your forgiven

A heart once broken is mended now
A harsh word spoken never made sound
Can’t you feel your heavy soul lighter now?

Chorus
Now our hope is in the Lord
He’ll take us higher
He is at the heart of our desires
Standin strong
We’ve got a perfect friend
Can’t you see the Son of God
Holdin on to our thankful hands?
The best part of our livin
Is we're forgiven

LIFT IT            Stephen Young

My holy Lord
Can you hear me callin' out again? again?
My holy Lord
Can you see me fallin' down again? again?
I lift my heart to you and I pray, I pray
May your grace and your love on my spirit lay

When you're feelin' like pain is all around
And nowhere you look can peace be found
You've got to lift it, oh you've got to lift it
Lift it to the Lord
When those tears are heavy in your eyes
And the weight of this world
Just don't want to compromise
You've got to lift it, oh you've got to lift it
Lift it to the Lord

Chorus
My holy Lord
Can you hear me callin out again? again?
My holy Lord
Can you see me fallin down again? again?
I lift my heart to you and I pray, I pray
May your grace and your love on my spirit lay

JUST BELIEVE           Stephen Young / Steve (Boudreau) Ashley
© 2011 Stephen R. Young (SOCAN) / Stephen J. Boudreau (SOCAN) All Rights Reserved.

There’s a little girl with a trembling hand
Walks with her mother to the school bus stand
She feels all alone, not knowing where the day might go
Now her mother smiles and tries to be strong
She knows these times only last so long
Oh she’s tried her best
But now she needs God to do the rest
All those nights she taught her daughter to pray
They’ve led to this moment, and she knows what to say……..

Chorus
Just believe that God is always with you
That his Son’s got a hold of your hand
Just believe that it’s His love that guides you
It’s on that solid rock you’ll stand
Just believe that in this world, if you were the only one
God still would have sent you his precious Son
It’s not something you can see….just believe

A wonderful time in a young woman’s life
She’s made a choice to become a wife
But it’s hard to trust, will this love always be with us
She’s seen so many take that cold hard turn
But from her faith she’s tried to learn
What it really means, oh and to truly love is so hard it seems
Her mother has waited all her life for this day
She fixes the veil and she knows what to say…….

CHORUS

Oh and by the look in her mother’s eyes
She can tell that it won’t be long…..
But she’ll stay holding that sweet woman’s hand
She’ll stay beside her until she’s gone
And all those years with her mother as they’d pray
Have led to this moment, She knows what to say……

CHORUS
You believed that God was always with you
That his Son always held your hand
You've lived your life with His love there to guide you
It’s on that rock that I’ve seen you stand
Oh remember what you said about the only one
Soon you’ll be in the arms of his precious Son
Your faith has made it easy for me……to just believe.

SIGNS                  Stephen Young / Erik Geddis

It’s hittin' me harder this time, I feel so alone in my mind
It’s gettin' harder to smile, so easy to cry
I’m walkin' alone now and I can’t tell you why
I’m down to my last prayer, God give me a sign
It used to be easy for me, beauty was all I could see
But I guess I was young and I’d never seen pain
God will I ever be back there again?
I’m down to my last prayer, God give me a sign

And then I hear your voice speakin' right to my heart
And my world feels brand new oh my life is about to start

Chorus
And every sunset’s the first
Every season is spring
And I see your love in everything
And I wonder why all this time I could not see the signs

Now that sun seems so bright
And your stars seem to light up my night
And it’s the way it should be with love all around
I’m lookin' for hope now in every sound
I called upon you Lord and God, you gave me a sign

Cause when I hear your voice speaking right to my heart
Then my world feels brand new oh my life is about to start

Chorus

THY WILL BE DONE              Stephen Young
© 2011 Stephen R. Young (SOCAN) All Rights Reserved.

They got that news when he was four years old
And "time would not be kind" was all that they were told
He never complained out loud, strength was all we'd see
But sometimes he must have asked God, "Why me?"
Lived life the best he could, shared love everywhere
But when he needed the world the most it just didn't seem to care
He wondered deep inside " Is there more to this life?"
But God had a plan to make it right
Somethin' changed inside, his heart began to see
And he never stood so tall as when he got down on his knees and he prayed.

Chorus
Thy will be done
In my life as it is in heaven
I'm layin' it all on the name of God's son
Thy will be done

Her little girl was never the first one across the line
And school was just so hard, she always needed more time
It broke her mother's heart because she knew the road ahead
And how she wished for another life instead
So many dreams for her that might never be comin' true
Would she ever meet a boy and hear the words "I love you"
But she was blessed with a smile, a gift from up above
And a tender heart that only knew how to love
When that school bus comes home that mother learns the truth
God gave her a perfect girl, that hug is livin' proof
And now she prayed

Chorus
Thy will be done
In my life as it is in heaven
I'm layin' it all on the name of God's son
Thy will be done

Chorus

NEVER ALONE           Stephen Young / Steve (Boudreau) Ashley

Did you feel that presence there when your heart was torn?
Or the time in your life when it all felt right, your child was born?
Through all those highs and lows, there’s something you’ve got to know
You’re never alone
Did you hear that voice inside before you took that chance
It will guide you, walk beside you through every type of circumstance
Through every day and night
When your eyes just can’t find the light
You’re never alone

Chorus
God’s spirit it came to guide us
Walkin hand in hand beside us
Teaching you to trust His wisdom and telling your heart what’s right
(you’re never alone)
When all of your world is falling
That’s God’s tender voice that’s calling
It’s something you’ve got to know, you’re never alone

There’s never been a time in my life when these words weren’t true
Even when I didn’t know God was there to show
His spirit shining through
No matter where we are, His spirit is never far

Chorus

The spirit of God sent down to the world
To lift you up when you are feeling down
A promise from God that we’re never alone man I love how that sounds
Sent down to teach you , God can reach you
So deep inside your heart
I understand it was part of His plan, the spirit’s been here from the very start

Chorus

GOOD GUYS           Stephen Young
© 2011 Stephen R. Young (SOCAN) All Rights Reserved.

Those were big words
For such a little boy to hear
We don't play with kids like you
We don't want your kind 'round here
He never said a hard word back
It wasn't those boys that he feared
Cause he'd been taught about a better way
And in his heart it felt so clear
He knows when the world shows hate
You've gotta answer back with love
Don't matter anyway what some people say
Just get your strength from God above

Chorus
Well that's one more for the good guys
One more for the home team
One more for the boys in the white hats
Ridin' tall on the silver screen
That's one more for anyone
Who feels tears when their flag flies
Well that's one more for the good guys

Now there's a man
For 30 years owned the same store in the same little town
And there ain't no way the big box man
Is ever gonna shut him down
Cause from that store window
He's seen heroes returning home
So many talks inside that place
With strangers who felt alone
He loves his team and he loves those Friday nights
And he trusts what the bible says
You gotta treat your neighbor right

Chorus

One more for someone's son
Who's servin' overseas
One more for someone's mom
Who every night is on her knees
Prayin' that God will find it in His will
To give her family all they need
And it's one more for those angels
Watchin' over you and me

A LITTLE MORE LIKE THAT              Stephen Young
© 2011 Stephen R. Young (SOCAN) All Rights Reserved.

A simple card would have been just fine
But she had a little more love in mind
Cause she saw his face
As he cried beside her resting place
That sweet old man would feel so alone
Livin' as one in the family home
So everyday, that girl vowed to find a way
To help that man feel joy again
She changed his life just by bein' a friend

Chorus
Don't you wish our world looked a little more like that?
Just sendin' out God's love and gettin' nothin' but love comin' back
It's time like this I know
We've gotta get it on the right track
I wish the world looked a little more like that

Twenty years teachin' highschool
In a place where they said "you're such a fool
To waste your time on those troubled minds"
But she knew God had placed her there
And all He asked was to show she cared
About those kids, so that's all she did
And those precious minds were set free
I guess God knew how great they could be

Chorus

Just a little more patience and a lot more love
Just a little more thinkin' about
What God's been thinkin' of

Chorus

FOREVER WE’LL DANCE (feat. Claire Lynch)          Stephen Young / Steve (Boudreau) Ashley
© 2011 Stephen R. Young (SOCAN) / Stephen J. Boudreau (SOCAN) All Rights Reserved.

Two high school kids so in love livin' life
Nothin' weighed heavy on those innocent minds
But that boy knew deep down he had a hunger to serve on the lines
So he told that sweet girl just what he had to do
He said while I’m away here’s a promise to you
You can keep it close to your heart and believe that it’s true

CHORUS
Forever we’ll dance
We’ll fly as a pair
My hand in your sweet hand so alive on the air
Our worries will not ride along
We won’t give them a chance
For God has called us to His floor my love
And forever we’ll dance

So he packed up his courage when the war called his name
She stayed behind and she never complained
She just held on so tight to that promise each lonely day
But sometimes it don’t go the way that we plan
Another young boy leaves this world as a man
He won’t make it home she learned, only the promise returned

THIS NIGHT           Stephen Young
© 2011 Stephen R. Young (SOCAN) All Rights Reserved.

The church sign said they’d meet by candlelight
She thought that sounded right
Cause she remembered that from years before
She figured she’d walk in just a little late
Cause she wasn’t dressed that great
And she’d sit back by the door
But she walked in just as those Christmas bells were ringin'
And then the choir sang out, sounded like angel’s voices singin'

CHORUS
Glory Halleluiah Christ is born
Our hearts will never be the same
Come kneel beside Him if you are weary and worn
And you will see the most beautiful sight
Because the greatest gift was born this night

She felt those tears start streamin' down her face
Oh how she’d missed this place
And the comfort that it brings
So many years of her feelin' all alone
And now that she’s come back home
She’s got a full heart and she was singin'
CHORUS

SMILE AGAIN           Stephen Young
© 2011 Stephen R. Young (SOCAN) All Rights Reserved.

It was the 24th day of the last month of the hardest year of his life
Raisin’ his boy in a steel mill town and now doin' it without his wife
He knew God had a plan for them and it would all work out for good
But it hurt so much being all alone, he’d sure change it if he could

When he got home he headed straight upstairs, from his boy’s room he saw a light
He figured that his son would be fast asleep on this sacred December night
His boy was kneelin' at the side of the bed, what a beautiful sound to hear
He listened to his son talk to God, with words well beyond his years

CHORUS
Lord I’m askin’ you on this perfect Christmas eve
I don’t know what else to do
But there’s somethin’ that I really need
I know that Jesus said we can move a mountain in His name
So I am prayin’ that this Christmas, you’d make it so Daddy can smile again

That beautiful prayer sounded so sweet, he couldn’t help but smile
He remembered when his wife would pray that prayer
But hadn’t thought about it for awhile
When they were young and barely getting by it was hard that first Christmas eve
And he heard his wife prayin' those words when she rocked their little boy to sleep
She said ......

CHORUS

He walked over to his son’s bed, got down on his knees
He said your Mother would be so proud of you son
Now would you pray that prayer with me?

CHORUS
Lord we’re askin you on this perfect Christmas eve
We don’t know what else to do
But there’s somethin that we really need
We know that Jesus said we can move a mountain in His name
So we’re prayin God this Christmas, you’d make it so we can smile again
Together we can smile again
This Christmas we're smilin' again
Oh with God's help we'll be smilin' again
